Jesus Gamarra & Jan Peter de Jong: The Megaliths of Peru
Jesús is considered by many as the foremost authority on ancient ruins throughout Peru, and specifically Cusco, and the surrounding areas which area considered the Sacred Valley. He’s been featured several times on peruvian television and recently on the History Channel on an Ancient Alien episode. Jesús Bernardo Gamarra Farfán was born in 1945 as Alfredo Gamarra’s son. From his childhood on, he was involved with arts like drawing, painting and music. He produced films, has been disckjockey, photographer and rocksinger. He studied Justice, but changed his mind when he started to get involved with the investigations of his father.
Jan Peter de Jong is an engineer who studied Agronomy at Wageningen University, Netherlands. I visited Peru for the first time in 1987, to do the practice for my studies, and was impressed with the country and especially with Cusco and surroundings. After becoming an agricultural engineer by completing my studies in 1988, I worked at the University. From 1991 till 1994 I worked in Ecuador in an irrigation proyect high in the Andes.
